Casa Mariana is situated in Solano, a small hamlet set amongst the local olive and almond groves. The paved road from the ancient market town of Colmenar ends at Solano with only mule tracks and footpaths beyond.
The surrounding views are stunning with the famous moorish stronghold of Comares perched high on the other side of the valley. Solano is ideally situated for trips to the local Parque Natural, Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Antequerra to the North and the Costa del Sol beach resorts to the south.
The guest house consists of three twin bedrooms, two with en-suite shower and toilet, and a separate shower/toilet all on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a large, air conditioned, open plan well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and dining area with beautiful mountain views and satellite T.V. Downstairs the front door leads onto the pool terrace with steps to a lower terrace with table and chairs under the shade of an ancient olive tree, further down a short path leads to the barbecue. All these facilities are for the exclusive use of paying guests.
Bed linen and towels are changed weekly.
Space heating is available for the cooler days and a wood burning stove for winter holidays.
Washing machine and ironing facilities are available in the villa.
Preliminary shopping of your choice can be arranged
for your arrival including special dietary items.
When flying in on Saturday please remember that the shops
are open in Colmenar for food shopping From 8am till 2pm
and 5pm to 7.30 pm, but closed on Sunday.
A small supermarket, Isabels, is on the left just as you
come up the hill from the centre of Colmenar.
It may be a good idea to shop before you arrive in Solano.
We do provide a welcome pack of bread, margarine,
jam,eggs, milk and a bottle of wine.
Car hire can be arranged from Malaga Airport with a
reliable local company on very reasonable terms.
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required when booking
The owners live next door, with a separate entrance on the other side of the building. Your privacy will be completely respected, but we are happy to offer help and advice on shopping,walking,sightseeing and anything else that may arise to ensure you have a very enjoyable holiday.
